Book by Jules Verne, All Around The Moon Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download All Around The Moon books, After being fired out of the giant Columbiad, the bullet-shaped projectile along with its three passengers, Barbicane, Nicholl and Michel Ardan, begins the five-day trip to the moon. After a close collission with meteor the three astronauts discover that the gravitational force of this satellite has sent them into an orbit around the moon. As Barbicane, Ardan and Nicholl begin geographical observations with opera glasses. They gain spectacular views of Tycho, one of the greatest of all craters on the moon. But then the projectile begins to move slowly away from the moon, towards the 'dead point', a place of which the gravitational attraction of the moon and earth becomes equal. Michel Ardan then hits upon the idea of using the rockets fixed to the bottom of the projectile, but the rockets are fired too late and the projectile falls to the earth at a speed of 115,200 miles per hour.

From The Earth To The Moon And A Trip Around It

Book by Jules Verne, From The Earth To The Moon And A Trip Around It Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download From The Earth To The Moon And A Trip Around It books, Jules Verne was an incredible visionary. His two stories regarding the first attempts by man to leave the surface of the Earth, travel across a vast distance and visit our satellite were incredible for the time in which they were written. But, even more so in that Verne predicted that Florida in the United States would be the point of takeoff and that three men would take part in the journey. There are many other surprises in store for the reader, and though Verne was incorrect on a few details it is almost as if he had visited his future and witnessed the events. This is a combination of the two stories detailing the trip and the return to our planet. Eighty illustrations accompany the text. This is a fine translation of Verne's original French writings with only minor interference by several editors over the years to standardize spellings and correct a few obvious typos.

Book by Jules Verne, From The Earth To The Moon And Round The Moon Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download From The Earth To The Moon And Round The Moon books, This darkness... showed that the projectile has passed the atmospheric strata, for the diffused light spread in the air would have been reflected on the metal walls, which reflection was wanting. This light would have lit the window, and the window was dark. Doubt was no longer possible; the travelers had left the earth."I have lost," said Nicholl."I congratulate you," replied Ardan."Here are the nine thousand dollars," said the captain, drawing a roll of paper dollars from his pocket."Will you have a receipt for it?" asked Barbicane, taking the sum."If you do not mind," answered Nicholl; "it is more business-like." This is the legendary novel of technological speculation and social satire that launched an entire genre of adventure fiction: Verne's From the Earth to the Moon and 'Round the Moon is the first story of space exploration and remains a beloved work of daring exploits-and surprisingly accurate scientific conjecture. When the members of the Baltimore Gun Club-bored Civil War veterans-decide to fill their time by embarking on a project to shoot themselves to the moon, the race is on to raise money, overcome engineering challenges, and convince detractors that they're anything but "Lunatics." With this work, Verne inspired the first science fiction film, 1902's Le Voyage dans la lune, and accurately predicted that that ideal location for a spacebase is in Florida. First published in France in 1865, this replica 1918 edition includes the sequel, 1870's Round the Moon. Also available from Cosimo Classics: Verne's Five Weeks in a BalloonOF INTEREST TO: science fiction fans, readers of 19th-century literatureFrench author JULES GABRIEL VERNE (1828-1905) is considered the father of modern science fiction.
