Atlas Of Black Skin

Book by Ali Moiin, Atlas Of Black Skin Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Atlas Of Black Skin books, As both experience and evidence-based findings indicate, specific dermatological conditions can prove harder to diagnose in patients with darker skin tones. Lack of knowledge or experience can compromise effective treatment and management, leading to lasting consequences for the patient. This atlas strives to supplement a lack of real world experience by providing more than 800 hundred high quality photographs and illustrations help guide physicians in treating the nuances of darker skinned patient populations. Dr. Moiin's own professional experience in treating patients of color on a daily basis and the sheer volume with which he is acquainted with these diseases on darker skin, enable him to provide broader insight and include a myriad of photos to better illustrate diagnoses and treatment plans. Photos range from common to rare diseases to aid in delineating nuances in diseases. Since dermatology is a highly visual field, the focus is more on the images, while the text is comprehensive but concise and often bulleted to allow for practical use. Written for residents and practicing dermatologists and all other medical professionals, Atlas of Black Skin is an essential tool for practitioners looking to broaden the scope of their care.

Black Skin

Book by William Montagna, Black Skin Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Black Skin books, This book is the first to concentrate on the structure and function of black skin. There are some physiological and structural differences between black and white skin; an area of intense interest is that of differences in response to sunlight and other damaging agents. An understanding of response to damaging agents is central to the problems of preventing or forestalling the early effects of aging in skin (a goal that is responsible for the current expansion in dermatological research). This book provides a concise multi-disciplinary insight into the biology, physiology, and chemistry of black skin. Primary emphasis is on the nature and origin of the pigmentary color and how this is related to specific properties of black skin, such as photoprotection and low incidence of skin cancers, that are lacking in white skin. Other topics covered include dermatology and cosmetics of black skin from a practical viewpoint of skin care and current treatments of pigmentary disorders. Black Skin is accessible to a broad range of readers from graduate students to specialists in physical anthropology, skin biology, dermatology, and cosmetology, as well as medical practitioners. Explains the molecular basis of racial color differences and the chemistry of melanin Covers the biologic uniqueness of black skin, including: Lack of elastosis in young skin; Keloid formation Includes pigmentary disorders of black skin Addresses the cosmetics of black skin

Hidden Texts Hidden Nation

Book by Kathryn N Jones, Hidden Texts Hidden Nation Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Hidden Texts Hidden Nation books, This book explores the representation of Wales and 'Welshness' in texts by French- (including Breton) and German-speaking travellers from 1780 to the present day. Since the emergence of the travel narrative as a popular source of information and entertainment in the mid-18th century, writing about Wales has often been embedded and hidden in accounts of travel to 'England'. This book locates and presents these largely forgotten texts and broadens perspectives to encompass European perceptions. Works uncovered for the first time include travelogues, private correspondences, travel diaries, articles and blogs which have Wales or Welsh culture as their focus. The 'travellers' analysed in this volume include those travelling for the purpose of leisure, scholarship or commerce as well as exiles and refugees. By focusing on Wales, a minoritized nation at the geographical periphery of Europe, the authors are able to problematize notions of hegemony and identity, relating to both the places encountered (the 'travellee' culture) and the places of origin (the travellers' cultures). This book thereby makes an original contribution to studies in travel writing and provides an important case study of a culture often minoritized in the field, but that nevertheless provides a telling illustration of the dynamics of intercultural relations and representation.

New Territories In Modernism

Book by Laura Wainwright, New Territories In Modernism Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download New Territories In Modernism books, Until very recently, Welsh literary Modernism has been critically neglected, both within and outside Wales. This is the first book devoted solely to the study of Welsh literary Modernism, revealing and examining eight key Anglophone Welsh writers. Laura Wainwright demonstrates how their linguistic experimentation constituted an engagement with the unprecedented linguistic, social and cultural changes that were the making of modern Wales, and formed the crucible for the emergence of a distinct Welsh Modernism. This study of Welsh Modernism challenges conventional literary histories and, in more than one sense, takes Modernism and Modernist studies into new territories.

Agony And Ecstasy

Book by Ronn Edmundson, Agony And Ecstasy Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Agony And Ecstasy books, Conceived of a golden, Black woman, round, voluptuous, radiant and fertile as the Nile in sensual dance with a chocolate man, mystic, indigenous, earthy, musical and oceanic; is it any wonder that true to my being, I have sought and known ritualistic confirmation, affirmation and consummation with Black women even in my puberty? Has not the Supreme Being of all flesh abundantly supplied me nutrition manifested as Black women? A Golden chalice with whom to share bread and wine? Have not all my adventures commenced from her being to her being? Has she not been a constant companion in all my encounters? Has she not been the sacred spark, the sacred fire in mine eyes? Has she not like Isis raised me from the death of my mind, my spirit, my virility, my faith, my cosmic identity as I have battled unconscious aliens who know not me? Has she not reminded me of God and my Trans-mission before I ascend the golden thread of consciousness like a successful fisherman returning to shore with his golden nets full of jewels? Every time I see a Black woman, I know there is a God.
